They eat organic foods and drink filtered water. They drive hybrid cars and bike or walk when possible. They want to leave a better world for the next generation, even if the next generation is wrapped up in MySpace.com and video games. They don’t relate to the fast-paced.

While getting to know some of them over the past years at live events and through teleseminars (the Internet marketer’s version of a coffee klatch), I discovered this group represents some new challenges in marketing that haven’t been there before. See, they loathe advertising.

What’s a marketer to do when her bag of tricks doesn’t work on the segment of people who most relates to her? She looks closer at lessons from the past and what DOES work in the present. Here are a few tips you can use to connect with the elusive Cultural Creatives.

Hook ‘em with a story. We all love stories and they make for some pretty compelling marketing. When a reader is taking in a story he actually looks for connections to himself. How cool is that? The reader is grooming a relationship with you without you even trying.

Be authentic. A Cultural Creative can smell a liar. Try the old bait and switch and you will shortly be out of business. Let them in on your weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

Use a conversational tone. Try speaking to them in the first person using language real people use. Don’t be so formal. Cultural Creatives aren’t uptight – just curious. Extra points for making them chuckle.

Long copy still works…as long as you are succinct and interesting. Cultural Creatives don’t mind getting information, as long as they are LEARNING something about a potential purchase or issue. Not impulsive buyers, they like to understand before they buy.

Get used to it. The Cultural Creatives are not some hippie group fad. They are here to stay. The sooner you adapt your marketing to reach them, the better.

What the BLOG?

By Lorrie Morgan – Ferrero

Blogs Are the NEW Secret Weapon for Reaching Your Target (target market). Just like you, I hate being marketed to. Every day we’re bombarded with over 3,500 marketing messages. And frankly I’m sick of it! But blogs are different. Blogs are a two-way conversation between blogger and bloggee (plus all the readers in between). Through commenting and cross-linking, you can share feedback. You can build your network. You can become, dare I say it, an Internet celebrity!

See, blogs add humanity and instantaneous expression to the web. Like ezines, blogs are a way for your customer to get to know you.

However, unlike ezines, blogs help you with search engine rankings. Did you hear me? I said, unlike ezines, blogs help you with search engine rankings. That’s a big one.

Entrepreneur Magazine, Business Week, even the FCC (Federal Trade Commission) all believe blogs are here to stay. Michael Powell, chairman of the FCC, started one. His initial post drew over 30,000 readers. A Microsoft spokesperson says Bill Gates is considering starting a blog. And filmmaker Michael Moore built a blog to promote his controversial movie, Fahrenheit 9/11.

But who has time to read a blog anyway? Exactly! The job of a blog is to cut through the information overload and deliver searchable, relevant and current content. Blog Ads recently conducted a survey of over 17,000 blog readers. Here’s what they report:

Blog readers are older and more affluent. 61% of blog readers are over 30, and 75% make more than $45,000 a year.

Blog readers are more cyber-active. 54% of their news consumption is online. 21% are themselves bloggers and 46% describe themselves as opinion makers.
Blog readers are media-mavens. 21% subscribe to the New Yorker magazine, 15% to the Economist, 15% to Newsweek and 14% to the Atlantic Monthly.

Whether on the left or right, blog readers have traits in common that often are absent in today’s public spaces: passion and initiative.

Blog readers have apathy towards traditional news sources. 82% say that television is worthless. 55% percent say the same about print newspapers. 54% say the same about print magazines.

Meanwhile, 86% say that blogs are either useful or extremely useful as sources of news or opinion. 80% say they read blogs for news they can’t find elsewhere. 78% read because the perspective is better. 66% value the faster news. 61% say that blogs are more honest.

Blog readers appear united in their dissatisfaction with conventional media and their rabid love of blogs.

Don’t you want to be a blogger too?

There’s a well-known structure in successful sales letters, described by the acronym AIDA.

AIDA stands for:

Attention

Interest

Desire

Action

ATTENTION

First, you capture your prospect’s attention. This is done with your headline and lead. If your ad fails to capture your prospect’s

attention, it fails completely. Your prospect doesn’t read your stellar copy, and doesn’t order your product or service.

INTEREST

Then you want to build a strong interest in your prospect. You want him to keep reading, because if he reads, he just might buy.

DESIRE

Next, you channel a desire. Having a targeted market for this is key, because you’re not trying to create a desire where one did not already exist. You want to capitalize on an existing desire, which your prospect may or may not know he already has. And you want your prospect to experience that desire for your product or service.

ACTION

Finally, you present a call to action. You want him to pick up the telephone, return the reply card, attend the sales presentation, order your product, whatever. You need to ask for the sale (or response, if that’s the goal). You don’t want to beat around the bush at this point.

If your letter and AIDA structure is sound and persuasive, here’s where you present the terms of your offer and urge the prospect to act now.

YourNight is a free social interactive site where you can connect with your friends and family. Similar to Facebook, with better functionality. You can expand the Whiteboard so it is easier to read and reply.

-With your YourNight profile, you can create up to five separate profiles, one for your friends, family, professional associates, a blogging profile, and a dating profile if you chose to do so.

-YourNight is message specific, which means, the unique thing with YourNight is when you create your “What are you doing now?” message, you can send it to only one or all of your 5 five profiles people. This means you can have your message viewed by only your friends, and your family and professional profile people will not see it, which means, better privacy. With Facebook, everyone sees what you write.

-YourNight comes with customizable widgets. With YourNight, you have a page where you can have access to your favorite sites, such as Gmail, AOL, Yahoo, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, CNN, People, Amazon, Ebay, Target, Bank of America, Wachovia, to name a few.

-YourNight is creating a shopping network where you can purchase products at major retailers at up to 20% off. Major retailers such as Best Buy, Target, Overstock.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Walmart, and other major retailers, are partnering with YourNight.

-YourNight is a referral social site. You need to be invited by or know someone who is a member of YourNight to create your free profile. This is important, because YourNight.com is sharing in the revenues it receives with its members. YourNight needs to track who you refer, because you can receive additional income, if you chose, based on their buying habits from the shopping site and the Gold Member referral program. You can receive 1% cash back of the total purchase amount of all the people that you refer, when they purchase items through the YourNight website. Cash Back rewards can be increased to up to 2.5% if certain requirements are made.

-With YourNight, you have the option to upgrade to a Gold Member for $10.00 per month, if you chose. (6.80) If you live in the UK. You can always remain as a free member of YourNight and enjoy the entertainment value of being able to socialize with friends and family, if that is your desire. There are many additional cash reward benefits for Gold Members, one of which is, you can receive $2.00 per month of all the people that you refer, with a minimum of five people who upgrade to Gold Member status. Hence, your $10.00 per month membership is paid for by your cash rewards from the $2.00 each you receive for the referrals of the five Gold Members.

-YourNight is also a charitable organization. $0.50 a month from every Gold Membership is transferred to YourNight.org, a not-for-profit sister company to YourNight. The donations are planned to be distributed within the area that they are collected from.

Those are just a few of the major benefits of creating a free profile with YourNight.com. YourNight’s goal is to become the major social website on the internet. Facebook currently has over 400 million members. If YourNight surpasses that, just imagine the friends you could make, the professional connections you could make, the additional income you could make, and the monetary contributions you could create for the world!

Create your “FREE” profile today.

Whether for personal or business reasons, blogs and or weblogs are a very popular and effective way to establish your presence on the internet and it’s low cost to almost no cost. You can set up a blog free of charge and start putting up content immediately. But, what good is that content if no one is reading it. Without visitors to your blog site, it almost like wasting time. Below are some tips to help you get the traffic you need in order for your blog to be profitable and survive.

Of all the successful blogs on the World Wide Web, hundreds more have failed. Running a blog is like running a business website. Unless you are willing to put the time in and treat it seriously, you won’t be blogging long.

That is not to say that the failed bloggers weren’t serious about blogging. Mostly, new bloggers aren’t prepared for the work that goes into creating a successful blog. Just building the blog doesn’t mean that people will necessary come to you. You pursue the audience and give them a reason to see what you have to say.

1. Fresh Content
2. Article Marketing
3. Social Networking
4. Viral Marketing
5. Use RSS Feeds
6. Submit Blog to Search Engines
7. Joining Forums
8. Visit other blogs
9. SEO Marketing
10. Social Bookmarking

It takes time to drive traffic, but if you use any of these ideas, you will be well on your way to driving the traffic to your blog. Your goal should be to build readership and that takes time. As people realize and see that you have content that helps them and interest them, they will begin to return for more and will possibly refer others to read your blog also. Be sure to use #1.

Many business owners, big and small along with Entrepreneurs attend Social Networking Events in expectation of gaining a new client, customer and or establishing a relationship. Many of these same people don’t have any idea about how to present their business products or services to their potential client or customer to begin establishing the relationship.

If you have been use to sharing your entire business plan, business description to people or lengthy statements at social networking events and going on and on about your business, telling them how great your company is or sharing how great your products are, you have been totally wrong and more than likely have not ever heard from those people that you gave all that great information to.

Most times those people will never contact you or consider buying from you. They don’t take a second thought about anything that you said, because you have not given them the information that they are looking for.

Here are 3 things wrong with giving that much information about your business or product & services to someone that you just met.

First, you have taken up too much of their time

Second, you have wasted alot of your own time. While you were giving out that much information to 1-3 people, you could have worked the entire room using your elevator pitch.

Third, no one really want to hear all the in depth details about your business products and services, they only want to know the benefit to them or the solution to their problem.

What is an elevator pitch?

An elevator pitch is an overview of an idea for a product, service, or project. The name reflects the fact that an elevator pitch should be possible to deliver in the time span of an elevator ride, meaning in a maximum of 30 seconds and in 130 words or fewer. (Wikipedia)

Your “elevator pitch” is the tool you use to communicate your message to your listener about who you are, what you offer and what’s in it for them. It can be used at Networking Events and on social networking sites.

The Law of Saving
By: Brian Tracy

Financial freedom comes to the person who saves ten percent or more of his income throughout his lifetime.

One of the smartest things that you can ever do for yourself is to develop the habit of saving part of your salary, every single paycheck. Individuals, families and even societies are stable and prosperous to the degree to which they have high savings rates. Savings today are what guarantee the security and the possibilities of tomorrow.

Start With Yourself
The first corollary of the Law of Saving comes from the book The Richest Man in Babylon by George Classon. It is to “Pay yourself first.”

Begin today to save ten percent of your earnings, off the top, and never touch it. This is your fund for long-term financial accumulation and you never use it for any other reason except to assure your financial future.

Develop New Habits Regarding Money
The remarkable thing is that when you pay yourself first, and force yourself to live on the other ninety percent, you will soon become accustomed to it. You are a creature of habit. When you regularly put away ten percent of your earnings, you soon become comfortable living on the other ninety percent. Many people start by saving ten percent of their income and then graduate to saving fifteen percent, twenty percent, and even more. And their financial lives change dramatically as a result. So will yours.

Take Every Advantage
The second corollary of the Law of Saving says, “Take advantage of tax deferred savings and investment plans.” Because of high and even multiple tax rates, money that is saved or invested without being taxed accumulates at a rate of 30% to 40% faster than money that is subject to taxation. Self-made millionaires, according to Dr Thomas Stanley’s book The Millionaire Next Door, are almost obsessive about accumulating their funds in assets such as real estate, self owned businesses and equities that increase in value without triggering tax liabilities.

Invest in company pension and retirement plans, 401(k) plans, IRA’s, Keough Plans, Roth IRA’s, Education Investment Accounts, stock option programs and whatever else has been approved by the IRS for long term financial accumulation. Make every dollar count!

Action Exercises
Here are two things you can do to apply this law immediately:

First, begin today to put away ten percent of your earnings. Set up a special account for this purpose and treat your contributions to this account with the same respect that you do your rent or mortgage payments each month.

Second, become a lifelong student of money. Read the best books, take courses and subscribe to the most helpful magazines. Know what you are doing so you can always make intelligent decisions when you invest your funds.

How Can You Attract More Wealth and Abundance?
We are now surrounded by more wealth than at any time in our history. The real question is how do YOU gain this abundance? Brian Tracy can show you how! Become a money magnet, immediately increase your income and learn wealth building secrets. Get the knowledge you need to make your financial future an outstanding one with The Unbreakable Laws of Money Package.

Do you ever feel like you are a diamond in the rough. I was just sitting here and caught like the last part of Charm School with Monique and as I watched the ending….it almost had me in tears. As I caught the last part and watched Saphyri win 50,000 and get some boots back…Of course this is not a show that I follow, but in just seeing that and hearing Saphyri’s joy and watching her tears and her humiility to God and thanksgiving to Him for not letting her down…I was so touched…
Had it not went off when it did, I was almost in tears. She was crying, Monique was crying and another lady there was crying…it was so touching. Well I thought to myself after listening to Saphyri as she began to speak out about when she first went to Charm School how she felt like she was just a diamond in the rough and how now she is a polished diamond. Monique said that she chose Saphyri as the winner because inspite of all that she had went through she still reached out to other people and was able to change peoples minds. I can’t go into all the details of this show, because as stated earlier, I had not followed it and had just came in on the ending…But in watching the woman bowed down on public television on a show that was not Christian based and just cry out with a loud voice to God, thanking Him over and over and saying “God you did not let me down, God you did not let me down” was just so touching. I began to wonder how many people online and in my surroundings on networks etc maybe feeling like they are just a diamond in the rough.
I want to reach out and encourage you today in knowing that you might be a diamond in the rough, but that God is able to take that same diamond and polish it up and bring it to success. You may not be a diamond in the rough, but people consider you to be one, failing to realize who you are in Christ or the potential that you have or they never really realize that you are a success in your own right. I want you to know that whereever you are today, that God is not finished with you yet. It may be your business, it may be your life, it could be a relationship, that just seem to be going nowhere. Well you might not admit it to me or to anyone else that your life is not working, your business is not growing, or you are not making any money in your business or that relationship you are in is not working or none of them look like they are anything worth anything…..But just know that God is not finished with you yet. God is not finished with your business yet. God is not finished with that relationship yet….NOW I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT SINFUL RELATIONSHIPS. But perhaps you are married….perhaps there is a friend. Perhaps it’s a business relationship…but they all seem to be going no where, no matter how much you try or how much you do it just look like it’s going nowhere or that it don’t mount up to anything.
With Jesus…they felt like nothing good could come out of Nazareth…
But our Lord and Savior came out of there and He is the best thing that has ever happened.

So if you are wondering, “Can any good thing come out of you or where you are right now” Let me tell you

YES!!!
YES!!!
Yes it can and Yes it will. Just keep the faith in God. Your change will come and your days of feeling like a diamond in the rough will cease to be and you will see yourself as the polished jewel that you are.

God Bless!!
Think the best about yourself.
You are somebody and you are great and you are successful.
Now tell yourself those same things and thank God for what he is doing and for what He is going to do and for What He has already done.
In Jesus Name

Don’t forget to come back to God and say thanks when it’s all said and done. This blog was written by Charlene Brown of www.kingdombiz.ning.com . Owner of The Black Business Cafe
